A Closer Look At Laser Skin Resurfacing
Fractional, non-ablative skin resurfacing is a technique that selectively targets micro-zones of the skin, creating controlled thermal injuries beneath the surface without disrupting the outer epidermis. Unlike ablative lasers that remove the outermost layer of skin, this method leaves the surface intact for quicker recovery and gentler treatments.
The principle is akin to enhancing a photographic image pixel by pixel. A fractional laser divides its beam into thousands of microscopic treatment zones, targeting only a ‘fraction’ of the skin in each session.
